Leave the rainforest behind and climb along a steep ridge with sweeping views.
Reach Shira Camp, located on the expansive Shira Plateau.

Acclimatization Day (Climb High, Sleep Low)
One of the most important days of the trek.
Although you end the day at a similar altitude to where you started, this day significantly improves summit success.

Barranco Wall & Southern Circuit
Start with the iconic Barranco Wall — a hands-on scramble that looks intimidating but is safe and exhilarating.
Arrive at Karanga Camp, a vital staging point before summit push.

Alpine Desert Zone | Summit Preparation
Short but steep climb to Barafu Camp.
Mental preparation matters as much as physical fitness here.

Summit Day | Uhuru Peak (5,895 m)
Wake between midnight–2 AM for the final ascent.
After photos and celebration, descend back to Barafu for lunch, then continue to Mweka Camp.
This is the longest and most demanding day — exhaustion is normal.

Rainforest Descent & Celebration
Descend through lush forest to Mweka Gate.

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

Approximately 75–85%, due to its excellent acclimatization profile.
Temperatures can drop to -10°C to -15°C. Proper winter gear is mandatory.
